Specialist Counsellors

 

Job description

Counsellor with Special Interest in working with Learning Disabilities

Full Time

Northwich with travel across Cheshire

£ 27,000 – 31,000 per annum 3 Years Fixed Term

 

RASASC is a leading provider of support for people who have experienced sexual violence and we are looking to recruit people who are committed to working within this field and who want to make a difference to the lives of those affected by trauma. We offer excellent terms and conditions with a 35 hour full time working week, 28 days leave per year plus bank holidays, a pension and EAP scheme as well as training and development opportunities.

We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our team of Specialist Therapists to provide trauma informed therapy to people aged 13 to 25 years who have experienced sexual violence, and who may also have additional needs or learning disabilities. The post will be based in our Northwich office with travel across Cheshire. Some early evening work will be required.

 

Essential Skills:

· Recognised professional counselling qualification to Post Graduate Diploma level

· Eligible for accreditation with BACP or equivalent governing body

· Experience of working therapeutically with trauma/survivors of sexual violence

· Experience and skills in working with complex needs and learning disabilities

· A clear understanding of the effects of sexual violence

· Experience of providing trauma focused interventions

· Experience of working with adolescents

· Experience of providing time limited counselling

· Understanding of and ability to provide psycho-education & coping techniques

· Ability to assess for risk and formulate treatment plans

· Evidence of continued professional development

· Strong organisational and administrative skills

· A good level of competency in IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft 365

 

Desirable Skills:

· Additional qualification in EMDR/CBT/Trauma Focused Therapy/Solution Focused Therapy

· Qualification in Therapeutic or Clinical Supervision

Children & Young People’s Counsellor

 Part Time position available – 21 or 28 hour post

St Helens & Knowsley

 

£  27,000 pro rata 3 years fixed term

 

RASASC is a leading provider of support for people who have experienced sexual violence and we are looking to recruit people who are committed to working within this field and who want to make a difference to the lives of those affected by trauma.   We offer excellent terms and conditions with a 35 hour full time working week, 28 days leave per year plus bank holidays, a pension and EAP scheme as well as training and development opportunities.

 

We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our teams in St Helens and Knowsley to provide trauma informed therapy to children, adolescents and young adults who have experienced sexual violence.  The service will work with children aged 5 and above; and provide support to caregivers if required.
